INTRODUCTION

American Sign Language (ASL) and written English are two innovative visual communication systems people use to share ideas and connect between communities worldwide. Both languages are essential since the Deaf community uses ASL through hand signs, facial expressions, and body movements to express meaning visually in an expressive way. On the other hand, Written English uses letters and symbols to form words and sentences that people can read and understand, demonstrating that each language is unique and their usefulness keeps people connected from different conditions.

This blog will explore the similarities and differences between American Sign Language (ASL) and Written English from linguistic, cultural, and historical perspectives. We will discover how each language works, represents its culture, and how it has changed over time, allowing people to communicate with others and maintain understanding.
